He cannot walk or get up, was able to speak, but speech is slurred.
MIRI: Former Baram MP Harrison Ngau urgently needs funds to admit himself to Timberland Hospital, a private hospital in Kuching, for a brain scan, said Mark Bujang of the Borneo Resources Institute, Malaysia (Brimas).
He issued the plea through a statement in Sarawak Times, a WhatsApp group.
Timberland, according to doctors in Miri, is the only facility in Sarawak where an urgent diagnosis can be done. “The doctors decided to refer the former MP to Timberland,” according to the statement.
The Brimas Chief is starting a donation drive to help Harrison. Donations can be sent to the former MP’s wife as follows:
Name: Uding Ngau
Account No: 161181039023
Harrison is currently hospitalised at Columbia Asia Hospital, Miri, said Mark.
“At the moment he cannot walk or get up,” he said. “He’s able to speak, but his speech is slurred.”
Apparently, the doctors do not know what’s wrong with him despite 3 MRI and a CT Scan. “The only thing the doctors can say is that he has an infection in his brain,” said Mark.
Also, the CT Scan and MRI in Columbia was not of high resolution. “So, the doctors are unable to see and confirm what’s really wrong with him,” he said.
The doctors need a higher resolution machine. There’s one at Miri General Hospital but there’s a long queue there. He has to be admitted for a few days before taking his turn at the machine.
Mark reiterated that Harrison’s family needs funds to pay for hospital bills and needs urgent support. “We really appreciate your support,” he said.
He urged everyone to pray for Harrison’s speady recovery.-FMT
