Choose between lesser of two evils

LETTER: It’s clear that only the people can ensure political unity in PRU14.

The political parties in the opposition will not come together to ensure a one-to-one fight against the ruling Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN).

The parties in the BN will stick together, driven by fear on what would happen to many of them if they lose power. Banks would call in loans and bankrupt them. The new government would direct the MACC, IRD and police to drag them to court after opening the books.

Many opposition parties are on the take from BN to kacau the Pakatan Harapan-led national political alliance.

This can be easily seen from the number of seats they contest.

In 2013, Sapp won zero seats, and yet it contested in over 30 state seats and some MP seats.

Star won only the Bingkor seat but yet contested 40 state seats and some MP seats. In 2018, if Star does not stick to Keningau, Tambunan and Bingkor only, with the blessing of PH, it means that it’s on the take from BN.

Likewise, Sapp, Harapan Lajim, and Warisan should each contest one MP seat and two state seats, again with the blessing of PH. If anything more, they are on the take from BN.

In the case of SakSaMa, they want to represent PH in the present seats held by it.

It also wants to ensure there’s an Opposition in Parliament should PH seize the reins of power in Putrajaya.

The people don’t have to worry about all these.

They should unite and vote for either the Umno-led BN or the PH-led Opposition.

Ignore others. Consider them as being on the take from BN which wants to prevent laws being enforced against its leaders.
